Rwanda’s representative in the Tusker Project Fame in Nairobi pulled out of his bag of reggae tricks an amazing performance to save himself, unlike his fellow country mates Nina and Christian who are on this week’s probation list.

Alpha’s tuneful voice and confident attitude not only wowed the audience but also got him one inch closer to musical collaboration with Kenya’s Reggae queen Nazizi who was a special guest judge during Sunday’s reggae do.

Nina Bola who survived eviction on Saturday after being given a vote of confidence by the judges will feel unfortunate to land on probation for the second time in a row especially after she had improved her performance immensely from the previous week.

Christian however will be disappointed that his spot-on reggae image was the only thing that won him accolades because his performance of Eddy Grant’s "I Don’t Wanna Dance” came short.

The fact that his stage movements were more like those for rap and that his voice was too cool for such a wild reggae song let him down.

The second week at the music academy clearly showed that the Kenyans and Ugandans are going to call the shots, especially because none form the respective countries made the probation list.

Uganda’s Maureen and Caroline and Kenya’s Debarl and Patricia continued to make almost flawless performances, while Kenya’s Nganga, fresh from a vote of confidence by the academy fans and Uganda’s Leah upped their game and buried their probation ghosts, at least for this week.

This week’s probation list complicates any voting patterns. The academy teachers are unlikely to save Nina for the second time, while Iluminata and Christian might provide the first real sign of romantic liaison in the house.

Contestants are most likely to pull out their daggers in search of liaisons to save each other from eviction implying that the Carol’s overwhelming support from the house will be a thing from the past.

From the look of things, Carol looks very worried about her chances while Christian’s cool attitude has to change this week as he seeks to attract voters outside the house and cut silent deals with housemates to increase his chances of survival.

My bet is that Nina and Illuminata will survive and the race will go down to our own Christian and Tanzania’s Carol.

Otherwise, the real games in the Tusker Project Fame Season Three begin this week.
