I get so disappointed when I walk through Kigali city and the Kigali-Kimihurura road and realize that no one takes the initiative to switch off the street lights during the day.

These lights are purposed for the night only so during day time, everyone expects them to be off – unfortunately, that is not the case.

While the government continues to ensure country-wide distribution of energy, it is vital that we use what we have sparingly.

Authorities must endeavour to follow up on whoever is supposed to do this work; otherwise if one calculated how much we lose by lighting the streets during the day, I am certain that the accumulated loss would raise eyebrows.

Let us be responsible enough to use our resources well.
