KAMPALA - Uganda’s Ministry of East African Community Affairs, has presented a thematic paper detailing a development plan on regional cooperation and integration arrangements.
The paper was presented to ministries and other government institutions on Friday during a workshop on EAC integration and sectoral mainstreaming.
"The thematic paper brings together Uganda’s EAC affairs agenda and reflects on Uganda’s response to the current EAC development strategy and investment plan,” said Pascal Odoch the board member in charge of EAC at the National Planning Authority (NPA).
During the workshop, members expressed concern about the delays in the implementation of integration strategies in Uganda, lauding Rwanda for being a leading country in the bloc that implements resolutions in the shortest period of time.
Speaking to The New Times Odoch said that the paper focuses on; economic growth, employment, connectivity and increasing trade and market opportunities amongst the partner states.
