MUSANZE — The Rwanda Development Board, tourism department, has called on hotel owners in Musanze District to maintain the required minimum standards ahead of the rating exercise slated for November.

Closing a three-day workshop for hoteliers, RDB’s Frank Murangwa, explained that some of the minimum standards expected of all hotels have to be adhered to all the time.

The training was intended to empower hotel managers to improve their services in order to score highly during the forthcoming ratings.

"Classification exercise is a tool to define quality standards of facilities and services within the hotel industry.

It is one of the ways to raise the quality of services offered to tourists,” Murangwa said.

Hoteliers said that there has been lack of standard measures to guide the investors and lack of professionalism in the hospitality industry.
