Five contestants have won a collective bounty of Rwf6 million from Rwandatel for participation in the companies ‘Turi Kumwe Jingle Contest’.
Five contestants have won a collective bounty of Rwf6 million from Rwandatel for participation in the companies ‘Turi Kumwe Jingle Contest’.
Willy Claude Karasira, the Rwandatel Event and Direct Marketing Coordinator, said that the contest aimed at promoting people’s talent through singing the company’s jingle.
"It was also to create more awareness about Rwandatel and its products in the community,” he added.
The five which include the one primary school pupil and two second students were awarded after singing the telecom company’s slogan on radio.
The overall winner, a senior four student walked away with Rwf3 million and the first runner up, Ivan Tushime, a Primary two pupil was awarded Rwf1.5 million.
The second runner up, Dorcus Asiimwe, a senior three student won Rwf0.5 million.
The other winners were radio callers who voted for the final contestants. They won Rwf1 million collectively.
The draw was made by the public during the 12th Rwanda International Trade Fair (RITF) that was held at Gikondo expo ground.
According to Rwandatel management, the contest that ran
for a month attracted 7,000 participants as callers and contestants. It started in late July and end this month.
