Jean Baptiste Hakizimana was the only Rwandan, who managed to finish among the top ten on day two of the Uganda Open golf championship yesterday at Entebbe Golf Club.

Hakizimana carded 73 to finish seventh on day two of the lucrative Ugandan Open golf tournament.

Hakizimana has now amassed 146 points following another 73 which was recorded on day of the tournament.

He said, "I will improve on my performance such that I can finish among the top three.”

The country’s leading golfer Emmanuel Ruterana who had a disappointing day finished 12th after hitting 77 points on day two.

Kenya’s Dismus Ndiza and Uganda’s Gerald Ayera finished day topping the leader board with 141 total points each. Ndiza pulled 74 while Ayera managed 70 in yesterday’s leg.

In the amateurs, Rwanda’s Thomas Eberhart finished ninth after carding 80. He hit 73 in the opening day of the championship.
