ENGLISH League Two club Notts County has turned down Rwanda’s national team skipper Olivier Karekezi.
According to HA-Sport, the Norwegian second division club Ham Kam feels disappointed because they had confidence that Karekezi would stay with Notts County.
Karekezi spent two weeks on trials with the English outfit where he was used a midfielder instead of a target striker, something that didn’t go well with the Norwegian club.
Ham Kam have put a staggering $2 million price tag on Karekezi as they to try to get out of their financial crisis.
The club has given itself four days to look to other clubs that might have interest in the Rwandan international.
According to Norwegian press, Karekezi will go for trials with Bundesliga club Werder Bremen, who have also showed interest in the former Helsingborg striker.
Karekezi was reported to have passed trials with Notts County last week.
However, Karekezi said on his return to Kigali on Thursday that he will wait for both clubs to come to an agreement.
"I passed the tests and the rest will be concluded by Ham Kam, which still holds my professional license,” Karekezi said.
