Last week, US First Lady took the fashion world by surprise, granted we are used and we love her fashion firsts. She has borne designs that no longer surprise us.

But this time her step out stunt from Air Force One in hot pants was just too enviably adorable.

Fashion world wannabes called her choice of clothes a flop, her legs ordinary but for us, this was just the birth of yet a new look.

Yes, if a forty something old woman can look that hot in those shorts, who are you to be confined in the ordinary jeans.

This time shorts are in and the amazing thing is you can wear them in a length comfortable for you.

We know that wearing shorts is far less common here than in the west but the good thing is there are shorts in our shops.

Though we are used to only wearing shorts in the house, now our field is even wider now.

Go anywhere and you will find someone in shorts. Some are longer than others while others are extremely short but nevertheless if you can take the hit then embrace this new ‘Mrs O’ style.

If you feel unsure about short shorts then go for a longer hemline. Khaki shorts are more businesslike and suitable for work that is if you are the boss or your boss doesn’t mind.

Depending on type, shorts can be matched up with heels for that classy look and with flats for a more beach relaxed look, with trendy sporties for a picnic.

They can also be worn with a vest and a blazer for dress down Fridays. The good thing about shorts is that they can easily be worn shorter than a dress.

However, before settling on a pair of shorts, ensure that it is not too tight and that it feels comfortable. There is no point of fidgeting around just so that you are in shorts.

Choose a colour that accentuates your skin colour. Make sure your knees are flauntable so that you don’t spend the whole day explaining why you made such a fashion flop.
