The national football federation Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa yesterday told Times Sport that the team will be named on September 10, two weeks before they head to Lebanon.
Rwanda is likely to be represented by Under-20 team which took part in the African Youth Championship early this year under the guidance Croatian coach Tomislav Obradovic.
Kalisa confirmed that Tomislav has already returned to Kigali from his native Croatia to start plans for the team’s preparations. The Croat’s contract with the U-20 team expires in two months time.
Meanwhile, table tennis federation has named Steven Sibomana and Fotanine Mukamuhizi to represent the country at the upcoming Games.
In athletics, defending champion in 10000m, Epiphanie Nyirabarame and Claudette Mukasakindi have been named to take part in the event.
It’s only the Cultural Dance sports discipline which is yet to name their respective members who will participate in the two-week long event.
Other disciplines in which other countries will compete include Judo, Table Tennis, Singing, Painting, Dancing, Story-telling and Poetry.
