Kampala mayor in Kigali
The mayor of Kampala City, Hajji Nassar Ssebagala arrived last night for a two-day official visit to Kigali. The mayor is in Kigali to discuss areas of cooperation between the two cities with his counterpart Aisa Kirabo Kakira.
According to KCC, Ssebagala is expected to tour several parts of the city.He is also expected to meet weavers associations in Kigali.
Conference on HIV
FAGER, a local students association in conjunction with the Ministry of Youth, UNICEF and CNLS are holding a 2-day conference at Kigali Health Institute to discuss the ways of preventing HIV/AIDS in students.
The conference will also focus on ways of fighting sexually transmitted diseases amongst the youths.
Vendors call for tax cuts
Vendors in Kayonza district have requested Rwanda Revenue Authority to cut taxes imposed on some goods following the establishment of the EAC Customs Union.
The vendors decried the taxes imposed on some goods that they claim shouldn’t be over taxed following Rwanda’s entry into the region’s Customs Union to which all East African member states subscribe.
