Amavubi Stars’ preparations for their must win 2010 World/ Africa Nations Cup qualifier against African champions Egypt have been rocked by news that midfielder Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza alias Migi  (pic) will not be available for selection.

The APR midfielder pulled a hamstring in last season’s final league match against Mukura and has failed to recover from it.

The Under 20 national team star started every match of the qualifying round and assistant Amavubi coach Eric Nshimiyimana told this paper that they have not yet decided on his replacement.

"He (Mugiraneza) is definitely out. We thought he would be fit for the tie but it looks like we were wrong.

We are not yet sure who will replace him but we have players who can do the job very well,” Nshimiyimana confirmed.

Coach Branko Tucak will have to use a make shift midfield since he will also be without Patrick Mafisango and Mbuyu Twite, who are both suspended.

Meanwhile, professionals Olivier Karekezi, Hamad Ndikumana and Boubakary Saddou are expected to arrive next week.
