The Amavubi and Atraco centre back, Patrick Mafisango has been ruled out of action for two weeks after suffering a calf injury during the pre-season build up match against Rayon Sport played at Amahoro national stadium on Sunday.
Mafisango injured his calf after colliding with Rayon Sport new signing, Roger Tchiwasti. He is undergoing treatment at King Faycal hospital.
The 24 year-old defender who was signed by the taxi-men club last month from APR is expected to miss part of the national football league season which gets underway on November 17.
The Atraco coach, Capt. Jean Marie Ntagwabira said that Mafisango’s injury is a blow to the club as well as the national team.
"It’s good to know that he will be away for only two weeks,” said Ntagwabira.
Mafisango is among 18 short-listed Amavubi stars’ players ahead of the forthcoming Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup tournament due in Dare-es-Salaam, Tanzania from December 8th-22nd.
