I was reading last weeks The New Times newspaper and I was greatly impressed by a story about the ongoing initiatives by YES Rwanda, in partnership with Educate International are training people in the informal sector on how to grow their businesses.

We all know how large the informal sector is in Rwanda and how significant it is to our economy, but it breaks my heart to find that the outstanding response they get from the government is police chased them and confiscating their merchandise.

All these people need is a slight mindset change, training in how to manage businesses and you will see miracles happening in their businesses to the benefit of their families and the economy as a whole.
