Newly Ugandan side Express signing and national U-20 skipper Omar Hitimana is confident of regaining his National football team place.
Speaking in Kampala after his team’s 1-1 draw against Sc Villa , Hitimana revealed that regular first team football at his new club will convince new national team coach Josip Kuze to summon him for national duty.
Hitimana said over the weekend that joining the Red Eagles came as a surprise but with only two games in hand; he is assured of a bright future with the Kampala based side that will be representing Uganda in the continental Caf Cup.
"I missed out on cementing a nationa team place and I owe all that to the failure of not getting enough playing time at club level.
I hope to maintain my first place on the squad and also reward the club administrators who have kept faith in me,” Hitimana said.
Like Rayon Sports of Rwanda, Express will be Uganda’s representative in the Caf Confederations Cup.
However, Express’s other new signing from Atraco; Joseph Kabagambe missed Friday’s game after his club failed to secure his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) from his previous Rwandan club, Atraco.
Kabagambe penned a two-year contract with the taxi-men and he is alleged to have walked away with US$3500 before signing another two-year deal with the Red Eagles last month.
