Trio to assist Tomislav

The national football governing body, Ferwafa has appointed former Amavubi skipper Eric Nshimiyimana, Claude Ishimwe and Yves Rwasamanzi as U-20 assistant coaches.

The national football governing body, Ferwafa has appointed former Amavubi skipper Eric Nshimiyimana, Claude Ishimwe and Yves Rwasamanzi as U-20 assistant coaches.

The trio has been awarded a two-year contract to assist the newly appointed U-20 Croatian coach, Obradovic Tomislav prepare a strong side for the 2009 African youth championship set to be held in Kigali .

The Ferwafa Chief Executive Officer, Jules Kalisa told Times Sport that the trio was selected basing on their vast experience with different junior teams in the country.

"The trio has been in charge of various youth club in the country.

They have also been assisting the national senior team the 2008 Nations’ Cup qualifiers and am hopeful, their combined services with Croat will be fruitful,” Kalisa said.

Kalisa further added that both Nshimiyimana and Rwasamanzi will assist Tomislav with the technical affairs of the players while Ishimwe will be in charge of the custodians.

Nshimiyimana and Ishimwe were assistants to former Amavubi coach Michael Nees in the just concluded Amavubi’s poor show in the 2008 Nations’ Cup qualifiers.

Rwasamanzi has been assistant coach to Ferwafa Technical Director, Michael Weiss who has since been stripped off the U-20 post.
