Last weekend’s charity concert on August 15, organised by the outgoing Miss School of Finance and Banking (SFB) to support orphans, raised more than half a million Rwandan francs.
Joan Ingabire, who led the organising team that comprised of other Rwandan Miss Campuses and musicians, said that the money will help offset some of the running costs of Home of Hope orphanage, located near Sainte Famille, in the city centre.
"We’re glad we managed to get some funds, and we shall buy items, including food stuffs for the children,” Ingabire said.
The SFB beauty queen, whose mandate will end in December, said that all children in need should be cared for by all Rwandans.
"The most important message I can convey is that it’s our responsibility as Rwandans to support disadvantaged children,”
The full packed concert was entertained by various local musicians and models.
