This has been revealed that some city schools lack proper hygiene.
Speaking to school teachers during the launch of the reading campaign, the Vice-Mayor in charge of Social Affairs, Jeanne D’arc Gakuba, said the reports are brought by students who attending civic education.
Teachers get computer lessons
Computer illiterate primary school teachers of Ngoma district have received training from students of Rwanda National University (NUR).
Teachers were impressed with the way how they were taught, and that some of them were computer illiterate, they said that will doing all their with the computers which make work easier and quicker.
Kigali’s population
The Kigali city mayor’s representative at the just concluded Diaspora meeting, Lillian Mutembe said that only 50% of Kigali city can be taken up for construction purposes.
Mutembe said that another half of the area in Kigali city is occupied by hills, valleys and swamps.
Current Kigali city has a population of 1million and it is expected to reach3.5 million by 2028.
KCC zones land for housing
In a move to avail housing for its residents,Kigali city council has gazetted Kagarama, Masaka, and Akumuniga as areas for construction of houses.Housing sectors are to focus on other areas outside the main city.
Girls’ education
Government will launch a progamme with an aim of keeping girls in school as new figures released Friday show a discouraging figures.
Last year the country recorded a high drop-out rate in primary school at 13.1%.
The figures were included in the latest Report on the Implementation of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy (EDPRS).
ICTR lawyer found dead in Arusha
A trial attorney at the Arusha-based International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), Shymlal Rajapaksa (42), was found dead Wednesday morning at his home, reports from there indicate.
Arusha Regional Police Commander, Basilio Matei confirmed the death, adding that investigations are underway to establish the circumstances which led to the demise of the ICTR staff.
