After a disappointing loss to Tanzania in mid week, Amavubi training has been called off to give players rest. The team will regroup again next week to prepare for the next 2010 World/CAN qualifier against Egypt.
Head Branko Tucak has given his players the weekend off but the team will resume it’s preparations for the Pharaoh’s encounter on Monday.
Amavubi Stars were beaten 2-1 by Tanzania’s Taifa Stars in an international friendly played on Wednesday at Nyamirambo stadium.
The defeat will do little to galvanize Tucak’s underperforming team, which faces a must-win situation in their remaining three qualifiers, starting with Egypt, followed to another home clash with Zambia before traveling to Algiers to play Algeria.
