Yves Mugunga promised that he will score many more goals for APR FC this season as he seeks to establish himself as one of the country’s most prolific strikers.

The forward’s goal sank Gorilla during the latter’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of APR at Kigali Stadium on Sunday, November 6, their first victory over the Blues.

"Scoring against big teams is a massive motivation. I want to be consistent and score many more goals in order to help my team stay in the run for the league title,” said Mugunga.

"I was very amazed by my teammates. We played the best football so far this season, and I hope we carry it from there and build some momentum. I am going to put in more effort, especially in training, so that I can keep improving and doing better in every game.”

Thanks to their latest victory, APR moved to third position with 14 points and within four points of leaders, Rayon Sports, three behind second-placed SC Kiyovu.

After six match rounds, 25-year old Mugunga is the leading goal-scorer for APR with two goals.

The youngster has managed to show a glimpse of what he’s capable of scoring.

Blessed with skill, awareness and vision in front of goal that most players could only dream of, Mugunga has finally found a home at APR FC.
