UNR Grizzlies v Rumuli

Although it is just a friendly, UNR Grizzlies rugby club coach Alphonse Umugire is intent on winning tomorrow’s match against visiting Rumuli of the National University of Burundi.

The match teams of the two national universities will be played at Umuganda stadium in Huye district, Southern Province.

Grizzlies, which finished in second place league last season behind champions Buffaloes, always attract a huge crowd whenever they are playing at their home ground.

The varsity side coach Umugire said the match will be very competitive because both clubs never like losing to each other because of the history between them.

"My boys have been comprehensive training for the last couple of days, and that means that we really want to win the match.

"The two clubs have a long standing friendly rivalry and don’t like to lose to each other, so it will be a very entertaining and competitive match,” Umugire said yesterday.
