Reigning national rugby league champions, Remera Buffaloes have received an invitation to take part in the Bujumbura 7s tournament scheduled for this Saturday in Bujumbura.
Buffaloes have been the dominant side on the local scene for the last two years and posted some impressive wins this season.
Six teams will take part in the one-day tournament; four of them are from Burundi, while Buffaloes and Gorillas will represent Rwanda at the event.
Buffaloes’s coach player Gerald Nsenga is very confident of extending the team’s winning streak beyond the Rwandan borders.
"Although our league ended several weeks ago, we have continued with our training on a daily basis in order to keep our players fit, Nsenga said, adding that "we are confident of winning the tournament.”
Buffaloes won this year’s league title followed by UNR Grizzlies in second place and Sharks finished third.
