The holiday was announced by Protais Musoni, the Minister in the Prime Minster’s office in charge of Cabinet Affairs.
Musoni said normally the cabinet takes a holiday of 20 days in August and 10 days toward the end of the year.
He added that during this holiday some ministers may remain busy visiting the districts they are assigned to while other will take a complete holiday.During the holiday, few cabinet businesses may be conducted.
RPF meet over achievements
RUHANGO-Yesterday in Ruhango, RPF members held a general meeting to mark the achievements registered in the district by the party in the past six months, and also discuss future plans.
Celestin Twagirumukiza, the party chairman in the district said while addressing the members that despite achievements like bringing water and electricity closer to the residents, other infrastructures were still lacking.
He mentioned more classrooms and provision of shelter to the vulnerable Genocide survivors as some of the facilities that needed immediate attention.
Vulnerable citizens get houses
The district of Ngoma has constructed 12 houses for the needy persons in the district who have been lacking shelter for years.The houses were shown to the President Paul Kagame while visiting several rural development projects yesterday in Ngoma district.
Students visit prisoners
RUTSIRO-Yesterday, students from Kigali Independent University (ULK) visited over 500 genocide convicts who are undergoing general interest activities commonly known as TIG in Rutsiro district in a bid to strengthen unity and reconciliation.
During their visit, students and TIG members held a football match which saw the prisoners beating 1-0 against students.
Jean Nsegiyunva, the team leader said the visit was to build unity and reconciliation among the TIG and residents.
Bio-diesel plant in offing
The Moringa Growers’ Cooperative is installing a new machine that will extract oil from the seeds of moringa trees to supply to the Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (IRST) to create bio diesel in Rwanda.
This was revealed by the vice president of the cooperative, Sam Mudahemuila.
The installation of the Rwf 10 million worth of equipment coincides with a push from IRST to spread awareness about the use of bio diesel and encourage investment from the private sector.
Youth newspaper introduced
KIGALI CITY- Yesterday, the ‘Tell Tell’ newspaper was introduced last evening as the first youth newspaper in Rwanda which will be in Kinyarwanda and English.
According to the publication management, the paper will educate, inform and help create reading culture amongst the youths.
The paper will be published twice a month and it is targeting the age-gap of between 6 and 19 years.
