Rwandan comedians on Sunday, November 6, delivered a great performance alongside Kenyan standup comedian MCA Tricky in what proved to be an entertaining second edition of Iwacu Comedy show held at Kigali Convention and Exhibition Village (former Camp Kigali).

Hosted by Muyango Uwase and Clapton Kibonge, the show served as a get-together evening for comedy during which a big number of local comedians, upcoming and established, took the stage to show the best they can do with their talent.

The show was a mix of sketches and standup comedy with Patrick Rusine, Fally Merci leading with rib-cracking jokes while the likes of Killerman, Bamenya and Jesca Nyambo were doing what they do best.

The creativity and teamwork that local and regional comedians showed at such a big show like Iwacu Comedy are a testament of how far the comedy community has gone in building the industry around partnerships.

They promised to deliver a big show and they never disappointed.

Zuby Comedy crew members Samu and Seth are still building a name for themselves but having a big name of MCA Tricky’s caliber on stage for their debut comedy show in Kigali is a good sign that East Africa stands together for the future of comedy.

The Kenyan could have cost them a lot to tie him down for a performance in Kigali but only the good relationship that he has with the two young comedians since he met them during their successful comedy tour in Kenya pushed him to fly to Kigali and support them, not for money as such, but for a good cause.

Together, they delivered an entertaining show to the excitement of hundreds of comedy enthusiasts who gathered at the venue.

While the comedians were thanking everyone who showed up to support them, Samu was full of praise for his mother who travelled from upcountry to watch him perform comedy live.

"Thank you for coming through, mother,” the comedian said, before joking that she was "sitting in ordinary seats yet I gave her a ticket to sit among the VVIPS”

Samu and his compatriot Seth had a big package I store but time could not allow, hence using as little time for their performance as they could to save some minutes for their Kenyan man of the show.

It was MCA Tricky’s performance in Kigali and his sharp eye on Rwandan women whose beauty impressed him at first sight.

He picked one young woman on stage and he could only say nice words about her.

"Look at her beautiful face!” he joked while saying that he would always wish to see her wherever he goes.

"If I have a woman like this at home...I would install cameras to monitor every movement she makes and whoever comes to visit her,” he further joked.

He had a different view about Kenyan women."What is their motivation in love when money is not there?” he said.

His performance was, however, short lived as the hosts were running against the clock to close the show on time.
