Local school have upped their preparations ahead of the forthcoming East African post primary inter-schools’ Games, which are scheduled for August 28-30 in the Ugandan capital, Kampala.
The five schools that will represent Rwanda are; Ihanka Secondary School (boys football), Apape (girls football), Gahini High school (netball), Inyemeramihigo College and Apape Cyuru (both handball).
Apape (girls) football team looked very impressive trouncing AS Kigali 3-0 on Saturday. AS-Kigali are the reigning champions of the women football league.
Apape Cyuru and Gahini SS also registered impressive wins over APR and UNR in netball and handball respectively.
The Technical Director of the national Inter-schools Sports Competitions Aaron Rurangirwa said the teams will continue with the build-up games as they prepare for the Kampala event.
"We are going to continue organising games for all the teams so that they get into good shape before traveling to Kampala,” Rurangirwa told Times Sport on Saturday.
