TRIPOLI, LIBYA - From now on, it is going to be a bumpy road for Rwanda at the on-going Afrobasket event in Libya.After yesterday’s Senegal encounter, the team plays Central African Republic this afternoon before taking on the intimidating Cameroonians on Tuesday.

After four days of action, CAR remains the only team to have scored in excess of 100 points. After losing their opening Group C games against Cameroon (69-79) and Senegal (69-82), the team feasted on Congo, outscoring the latter 113-61.

Out of the six teams in Tripoli, the top four will join the top four from Benghazi in the quarter-finals scheduled for Thursday.

Mathieu Miller still stands out as Rwanda’s outstanding player at the tournament. The point-guard is ranked 11th after averaging 16.5points per game.

Senegal, Nigeria and Cape Verde dominate the top ten with two players each. Surprisingly, Angola doesn’t have a player in the top ten. The 2007 most valuable player Joaquim Gomes is Angola’s best ranked player in 14th spot.
