BURERA — Over 1,000 senior six leavers who are waiting to join public universities and other tertiary institutions at the weekend completed a three-week civic education training (Ingando) at the Peace and Leadership Centre in Nkumba, Burera District.

The Minister of Youth, Protais Mitali, presided over the pass out ceremony during which the fourth batch of students was officially received.

At the function, the Minister observed that ingando cements cooperation and unity among Rwandans which is a cornerstone for development.

"This knowledge should help to realise what is good for your self and should assist participants make right decisions,’’ he said, urging the group to be disciplined in order to excel in academics and to succeed in life.

 "Rwanda needs youth who are knowledgeable, creative and with self esteem but this requires a high level of discipline and patriotism, ’’he added.

Through their representatives, the enthusiastic students, pledged to fight divisions, genocide and its ideology, and be flag bearers of positive change.

Dr. J Baptista Habyarimana, the president of the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission (NURC), said that research has proved that the youth enjoy good social relationship which puts them in better position to foster unity.
