Brice Melodie departed Kigali on Sunday, February 2, for a private visit in Lagos.

There is no doubt that Bruce Melodie is arguably one of Rwanda’s biggest music exports as he continues to raise his ranking on the international charts via collaborations with various music from across Africa and beyond.

The ‘Samoya’ hit maker, signed to 1:55AM, departed Kigali on Sunday, February 2, for a private visit in Lagos, Nigeria, to which he has been traveling back-to-back as a result of strong ties he has built with his peers based in the Western African country which currently leads the music industry on the continent.

The visit came as no surprise, as he is currently promoting his current album 'Colorful Generation', which features various top musicians including Nigeria’s Joeboy formerly signed by Mr Eazi under emPawa Africa.

The 20-track project, produced by 1:55AM and distributed by S-Curve Records, features collaborations with more global stars like Shaggy, Kenya’s Bien-Aimé and South Africa’s Blaq Diamond with production touched by different sound engineers and producers such like UK-based Madebeats, Elelment Eleeeh and Primce Kiiz among others.

According to Kenny Mugarura, a member of Bruce Melodie’s management team, the artiste’s visit to Lagos primarily focuses on promoting his collaboration with Joeboy, Beauty On Fire, which currently features on his album besides seeking more partnerships and collaborations with more artistes based in the country.

"We have been promoting the album in Rwanda for the past two weeks and its time we start doing promos across the borders. We are currently in Nigeria to push ‘Beauty On Fire’, one of the biggest hits on Bruce Melodie’s album,” Mugarura told The New Times in a telephone interview.

Another big highlight of the visit, Mugarura said, is the push to appear on Glitch live sessions, a Colors-like set curated by Glitch Africa Studios which houses the best of talk shows, podcasts or interviews for creators across the continent and beyond.

The New Times understands that Bruce Melodie will perform live on Glitch alongside Joeboy on Tuesday, February 4, as he breaks yet another record as the first Rwandan artiste to appear on the platforms which previously featured the likes of Asake, Oxlade, Ruger and many other notable artistes.

"We will also do media tours and record new music with new producers and artists that we will announce soon,” Mugarura added.

The singer is pushing to grow his audience through the visit to Nigeria, currently Africa’s most populated country and his much anticipated appearance on Glitch live indicates that he is eager to global even more in 2025.
