The former Minister Local Government, Protais Musoni Wednesday, officially handed over his office to the new head of the ministry, Christopher Bazivamo former Minister of Agriculture.
The former Minister Local Government, Protais Musoni Wednesday, officially handed over his office to the new head of the ministry, Christopher Bazivamo former Minister of Agriculture.
In a ceremony held at Alpha Palace hotel on, members of the local government including mayors, governors and heads of government parastatals that work closely with the Local Government Ministry, praised their former boss and requested him to remain close to the ministry.
The hand over followed a recent mini- cabinet reshuffle that saw several ministers transferred.
Musoni was appointed Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office in charge Cabinet Affairs replacing Dr. Charles Murigande who was transferred to the Education Ministry.
In his speech, Musoni emphasized that for the ministry to achieve its plans; all officials will have to focus more oon partnership and cooperation amongst themselves.
"I put my trust in Bazivamo, I have worked with him for about ten years under different auspices and I know how capable he is.”
Bazivamo is no stranger in local government ministry having headed it before he was moved to the Ministry of Environment and subsequently to Agriculture.
