Atraco head coach Sam Timbe is figuring out the best way of reaching higher heights with his team in next year’s Caf Confederations Cup campaign.

Speaking exclusively to Times Sport after winning the MTN Peace Cup title and Kagame Cup, Timbe said his next target  is to conquer the continent in next year’s Confederations Cup.
"At first when I assumed this job last season, it was a tough challenge for me to come and maintain the same football standard of the team.

"I also wanted to go far with Atraco in the Champions League but this was not possible as we could not progress past the first round.

"I have good and experienced players and our target is to reach the Confederations Cup final next year. It’s the continental title that we want to win,” Timbe said.

The Ugandan coach added that he plans to bring in new players such that the team can have enough depth to compete successfully at the continetal level.

"I already have good players but we need to bring in  a few new names to help us compete favourably in all competitions we engage in next season ,” Timbe added.

Timbe has become the most decorated coach in the region following the Cecafa club championship’s history where he guided Atraco to Cecafa/Kagame Club Cup title.

With three league titles already in the bag, Timbe has now won a treble of regional Cups with three different clubs hence becoming the first man to achieve that kind of success since the tournament’s inception in 1974.

Last week, the Ugandan born tactician guided Atraco to a well-deserved double after winning this year’s MTN Peace Cup. The taxi-men side secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory in the final against an unwavering Mukura side.

Hamis Kitagenda’s 4th minute strike proved enough to propel Atraco to their second title of the season after the famed 2009 Cecafa/Kagame Cup championship, which they won last month in Sudan.

Atraco, who also pocketed Rwf10million for the victory earned an automatic ticket to represent Rwanda at next year’s African Confederation Cup.

The taxi-men’s side was knocked out of the African Champions League early this year by El Merreikh after a 2-1 goal aggregate in favour of the Sudanese champions.

In 2007,  Atraco failed to go past the second round of the Confederations Cup after a 3-2 goal aggregate against Tunisia’s Gafsa under the services of another Ugandan coach Sam Ssimbwa.
