Manfred Kizito has been included in the media select side short listed by the local sports journalists that will face a Ferwafa select next Tuesday.

The Atraco midfielder had been axed from the mainstream national team, dubbed ‘Ferwafa select’ but media practitioners thought he was still good enough to be on the team.

Also on the media select side are Rayon Sports defenders Olivier Uwingabire, Bonaventure Hategekimana as well as Atraco strikers Andre Lomami and Theoneste Muhayimana.
The idea to have the two teams play against each other is an initiative of the newly installed national team coach Josip Kuze.

The Croat wants to use the match to make his first assessment of the type of players he is about to work with for the next two years and even beyond if the situation demands.

The 55-year-old’s first real test as Rwanda’s coach will come at next month’s Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup slated for December 8-22 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The media select team was selected Thursday evening at Ferwafa headquarters by the leading sports journalists in the country.

Kuze wants to use the match to select his own squad from the two select sides for the regional championship
Meanwhile, Ferwafa has confirmed that Amavubi Stars will regroup in ten days’ time to start preparations.

Rwanda has won the regional event one in 1999 when it was held in Kigali and as hosts, they entered two teams (Rwanda A and B) and the later went on to beat Kenya 3-1 in the final.

The Amavubi, under Michael Ness finished third in last year’s edition which was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
