Editor,

I would like to convey my congratulations to the recently crowned Miss KIST 2009, Clarisse Nshuti. Beauty pageants might not yet be popular in Rwanda but I personally think they should be promoted.

I have noticed that many of pageants that take place here are a silent affair. Probably the organisers are media shy or don’t know how important the media is in ensuring that the pageant winner’s agenda is promoted as well.

The New Times reported that the Vice Rector in charge of Finance and Administration at KIST, Erasme Gatabazi, advised the contestants that beauty should go hand in hand with good deeds all geared towards the country’s development.

That is very true. I hope to read from your paper, the Clarisse Nshuti’s plans for her tenure and how she feels about being Miss KIST. Otherwise, thank you for always informing us Rwandans and those in the Diaspora.
