AFTER guiding APR to their tenth league title, Dutch coach Erik Paske wants new blood for next season.

Paske told Times Sport that the military side needs to be strengthened before they can think of challenging for next year’s African Champions League.

"It is time to bring in fresh blood if we are to successfully challenge for honours next season. We are now looking at areas which need reinforcement and which players to bring in,” said Paske.

APR sealed a tenth title on a dramatic final day of the season. Paske’s guns went into the game two points adrift of table leaders Atraco but at the end of the day, their 2-0 win over Mukura proved enough after Atraco had failed to find the net against a well-organised Marines side.

It was a stumble that eventually ended Sam Timbe’s dream of a treble and further put the team under pressure in the run in to Saturday’s MTN Peace Cup final against Mukura.
APR’s goals were scored by Kabange Twite (45th) and Bokota Labama Kamana (77th).

Twite put APR one up after capitalising on a defensive mix up in Mukura’s back line to head home from close range. Bokota scored the second 13 minutes from time after rounding off Mukura’s goalie Sebastien Habimana.

Atraco’s draw coupled with APR’s victory meant that the two sides finished level on points (51 points) but Erik Paske’s side finished top on goal difference (40 against Atraco’s 36).

Atraco however showed their mental strength on Saturday as they battled to a 1-0 win over Mukura to win this year’s MTN Peace Cup.

The Cup sealed a double for Sam Timbe after the famous Cecafa/ Kagame Cup Championship in Sudan.
