CAIRO - Egyptian club Zamalek announced on Friday the signing of a one-year loan agreement bringing striker Mido back to his home club from English championship (second division) side Middlesbrough.
"The deal was done after extensive efforts by club president Mamdouh Abbas, who succeeded in completing it for Zamalek for $720 000,” club spokesman Sabri Saraj said in a statement.
The deal includes a provision for the Cairo club to permanently acquire the 26-year-old striker at the end of the season for $1.65 million, the statement added.
Mido has played for clubs in Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands and England during a tumultuous European soccer career.
