FERWAFA president Brig. Gen. Jean Bosco Kazura and Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa have landed roles in the Confederation of African Football (Caf).

Kazura has been named on the organising committee of the 2010 Africa Nations Cup (CAN) and African Youth Championships while Kalisa was appointed on the legal committee.

The pair joins fellow Rwandan Celestin Musabyimana, who has retained his seat on the CAF executive committee.

"This is testament of our hard work to creating a good working relationship with the continental body,” Kalisa said.

Musabyimana also lauded the appointments stating that they would go a long way in improving their administrative skills.

"It is good to see more Rwandans joining CAF circles. I’m sure it’s in Rwanda’s best interest because at the end of the day, it will further their knowledge on running the sport,” the former Ferwafa vice president reckoned.

"I also think that Rwanda’s success in hosting the 2009 African Youth Championship in January was a contributing factor.”

Musabyimana also has his hands full after being named on the organising committee of the African Nations Championship (CHAN), African U-17 Championship and the media committee.

CAF Secretary General Mustapha Fahmy has congratulated the appointed and urged them to work towards developing the sport on the continent.

Meanwhile, the local organising committee (LOC) for the Angola 2010 CAN has launched the publicity and marketing campaign for the tournament. The draws for the three-week event are set for November 20 in the Angolan capital of Luanda.

The tournament will be held in four cities; Luanda, Cabinda, Benguela and Lobango.

It is the first time Angola is hosting the biennial championship since its inception in 1957.
