Singer Vestine Ishimwe, a member of Rwanda’s famous gospel music duo, 'Vestine and Dorcas', legally married her Burkinabe husband Ouedraoso Idrissa on Wednesday, January 15, at Kinyinya sector.
Vestine, 22, and her fiancée from Burkina Faso made their civil wedding so private that attendees where strictly prohibited from taking photos and videos.
Vestine is two years older that her sibling and music partner Dorcas Kamikazi.
The duo started doing music in 2018 before being signed under MIE Empire, owned by local journalist Irene Murindahabi. They produced many successful songs that hit a million views on YouTube in no time, hence establishing themselves as one of the leading gospel music groups in Rwanda.
Vestine & Dorcas are commonly known for their soulful voices in series of their songs like ‘Iriba,‘ ‘Simpagarara,’ ’Adonai,’ ‘Neema,‘ ‘Ihema,’ ‘Umutaka,’ ‘Ibuye,’ ‘Nzakomora,’ ‘Nahawe Ijambo,’ ‘Ku musaraba,’ ’Si Bayali’ and Isaha among many other hits.
