Gahakwa to handover

The former Minster of Education Dr. Daphrose Gahakwa will today handover to Dr. Charles Murigande who was the Minister in charge of Cabinet affairs.The ceremony is set to take place at the ministry headquarters in Kacyiru.

The hand over follows a recent mini- cabinet reshuffle that saw several ministers transferred.Gahakwa was the only minister dropped from the cabinet.

Co-ops to receive 70 cows

A total of seventy cross breed cows will be given to KOTABORU cooperative in Nyagatare District in a poverty reduction drive.

Oxfam Great Britain under the theme, "One Cow, One Family Programme” with special attention to women will hand over the donation.

The cooperative comprises of 140 women. The hand over is set for August, 05.

Egypt undeterred on Nile position

Egypt is defiant on its position on the River Nile Basin agreements.The agreement made in 1959 between Sudan and Egypt awarded the latter 55.5bn cubic meters of the Nile water. Egypt argues that by 2017 its water needs will have surpassed its resources.

Scotland community donates to local school

A team of 15 youth from East Lothian in Scotland have been in the country and helped up grade Kingdom Education Center’s playground in Kicukiro District.

The team which included youngsters between 16-19 years of age had come to the country to help the school and to also see for themselves Rwanda’s progressive 15 years after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Allan Walker the leader of the team, they came to share their experience with the young people of Rwanda.

Govt officials liable for damages

The Judiciary recently had a meeting and discussed on how to recover money embezzled by public servants.

During the meeting they agreed that public servants who make inappropriate decisions that take the state to court will be accountable for the eventual damages.

They also agreed on a mechanism that will make a follow up on funds awarded by the court to the state.

Imbuto reaches out to Diaspora

Imbuto foundation, a youth focused organization will introduce an award to a Rwandan in Diaspora who excels in entrepreneurship.

The awards to be held in December are aimed at getting youths to be innovative.The award also includes Rwandans in the Diaspora.
