They are now back into business with their journey beginning in the preliminary round but they must overcome Etincelles who beat them 1-0 at Umuganda Stadium in Rwanda Premier League a fortnight ago.
"We are ready for Etincelles, we have been preparing well and I believe that we will win the game. It is a big match for us but we have to win,” said AS Kigali coach Shahani Mbarushimana.

"The Peace Cup means a lot for AS Kigali and the players know what we need. Etincelles beat us in the league but this is going to be a different game,” he added.
At least 40 teams registered for the Peace Cup 2025 with 32 of them starting the campaign from the preliminary round while the eight teams which reached the quarterfinals last season will join when the tournament reaches in the round of 16.
They include holders Police FC, finalists Bugesera FC, Rayon Sports, APR FC, Vision FC, Gorilla FC, Mukura VS and Gasogi United.
Police FC won the 2024 Peace Cup after defeating Bugesera FC 2-1 in the final held at Kigali Pele Stadium. They represented Rwanda in the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup where they were eliminated from the first round.
