Over 20 private sector companies from Rwanda are believed to have attended the ongoing East African Community (EAC) Investment Conference being hosted in Nairobi, Kenya, according to information availed by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB).

The 2nd edition of the EAIC started on Wednesday showcasing investment opportunities and communicate the economic prospects in the five country bloc.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of RDB Business Operations and Services, Linda Mutesi said that its only 18 companies that confirmed participation and would exhibit at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC), the venue of the conference.
"These (companies) where accompanied by the RDB CEO, who are part of the eight Rwandan speakers at the 3-day forum,” she said.
The list of RDB CEOs includes, Joseph Ritchie, Clare Akamanzi (Deputy CEO for Business Operations and Services), and Nkubito Bakuramutsa (Deputy CEO for IT).
Unlike Uganda’s President, Yoweri Museveni and Tanzania’s Jakaya Kikwete the other partner states’ presidents were present at the opening ceremony.
These among other investors and partner states officials will sensitise the world on the latest strides made in advancing the economic integration front at the EAC.
The conference is under the theme, ‘Invest in EAC, where the challenges are opportunities.’
