Rwanda Football federation (Ferwafa) has summoned a 27-man provisional squad to start preparations for the international friendly match against Tanzania on August 12 in Kigali.
The team will be using the game to prepare for the 2010 WC/CAN qualifier against Egypt on September 5.
The team is scheduled to meet with the federation officials at Ferwafa headquarters in Remera before they join camp.
According to inside sources, the meeting is aimed at discussing what Rwanda can do to win her remaining Group C matches so as to qualify for next year’s Africa Nations Cup in Angola.
On the other hand, the Taifa Stars will be using the match to maintain their rhythm ahead of next year’s Africa Nation Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.
However, Amavubi Stars head coach Branko Tucak is yet to return back from his native Croatia where he went for a holiday after last month’s disastrous 3-0 loss to Egypt.
Rwanda has done little favour to their hopes of qualifying for next year’s World Cup and Africa Nations Cup after managing just a point from a possible nine.
After being held to a goalless draw in their opening qualifier against Algeria, Amavubi crumbled with back to back defeats against Zambia (1-0) and Egypt (3-0).
Meanwhile, after the Tanzania friendly, Amavubi will play two friendlies against DR. Congo before the Egypt qualifier.
