City mayor flown to India for treatment

KIGALI - The Mayor of Kigali, Dr. Aisa Kirabo Kakira, has been flown to India for diabetes treatment.She was referred to India by King Faisal Hospital, the national referral hospital.Both, the personal assistant to Kirabo, Augustus Rutasingwa and the Public Relations Officer of the City Council Bruno Rangira confirmed that Kirabo was in India for treatment but could not reveal further details regarding their boss’s health.

KIGALI - The Mayor of Kigali, Dr. Aisa Kirabo Kakira, has been flown to India for diabetes treatment.

She was referred to India by King Faisal Hospital, the national referral hospital.

Both, the personal assistant to Kirabo, Augustus Rutasingwa and the Public Relations Officer of the City Council Bruno Rangira confirmed that Kirabo was in India for treatment but could not reveal further details regarding their boss’s health.

Meanwhile, a source from King Faisal Hospital told The New Times the mayor left for India recently to get treatment.

"She flew to India unaccompanied because she was not in a critical condition,” the source revealed.

During her absence, her two deputies (vice mayors) will temporarily oversee the duties of her office.
