In Cannon’s brief remarks after the game, he commended both sides for the exciting game before wishing, "this is the last time I want to be referred to as the British ambassador because once Rwanda gets incorporated into the commonwealth, the title will be ‘British high commissioner to Rwanda.”

RCA also used the occasion to extend their gratitude to their partners and sponsors who have made the sport what it is today. Notable among them included Sulfo, Ministry of Sports and Culture (Minispoc), MFI, BCR, MTN Rwanda, BRD, DHL, Computer Point, and Sekanyolya.
