NORTHERN PROVINCE

MUSANZE coach Rafiki Nshimiyimana has attributed his club’s promotion to the top flight to concerted effort and commitment.  "We worked tirelessly to make sure we qualified and all I can say now is that we are very happy with the achievement,” Nshimiyimana said.

Musanze realised their dream of first division football after Sunday’s goalless draw against Muhanga at Ubworoherane Stadium. The result meant that Musanze qualified on the away goal rule following a 1-1 draw in the first leg.

In the regular season, Musanze enjoyed an outstanding season after winning 13 games, drawing two and only losing three.

The club president Oswald Habumuremyi has now challenged Musanze district to strengthen the side before it embarks on a tougher challenge in the first division.
