Rwandan striker Arthur Gitego is forcing a move out of AFC Leopard amid deteriorating relationship with the Kenya Premier League side.
Times Sport understands that the 22-year-old has started talks with several teams, and he has formally requested a release letter from AFC Leopard despite having one year remaining on his current contract with the club.
"I asked them [to release me] but they refused,” Gitego told Times Sport.
Gitego has been pushing for a move out of Leopards since club sacked former coach Tomas Trucha in November.
The former Marines star admits that his contract is making his move complicated after being told by the club that they are not ready to let him go.
"I had many offers but they didn't understand. They continue to play littler tricks. I think I have been left with no choice but to stay,” the forward said.

"I have written to them a letter asking for a separation but they have not responded, which means I have to sit down and finish my contract with the club,” he added.
Gitego joined AFC Leopard in February 2024. The Rwanda international enjoyed a bright start to the club where he won the top scorer award in the 2024 Mozzart Cup where he finished with five goals.
His club finished third in the league and failed to secure ticket to the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup, tempting the striker to move elsewhere.
Several clubs are said to have joined race to sign him but leaving the club looks far from possible amid club’s current battle to keep him.
Gitego previously played for Heroes FC, Kiyovu Sports and Gicumbi FC. His last stint in Rwanda was with Marines FC where he scored 16 goals in his one-and-a-half-year spell before moving to AFC Leopards in February 2024.
