The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has increased the prize money for the African Nations Championship.
The CHAN 2024 which will be co-hosted in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda from February 1-28 will attract an improved prize money from the knock out stages to the final compared to the previous editions.
"CAF has confirmed a massive 75% increase in prize money for the TotalEnergies CHAN 2024! The winner will now bag a whopping $3.5 Million," an official statement from CAF indicated.

Previous winners Morocco in 2020 and Senegal in 2022 took home $1.25 million and $2 million respectively.
CAF also announced that the total prize money of the 2024 CHAN finals has been boosted by 32%, hence $10.4 million in total.
The draw for the CHAN 2024 will take place in Kenya on January 15.
