RWANDA made a strong start in the on-going sitting volleyball World Cup qualifiers with a commanding straight sets victory over Kenya.

The hosts and tournament favorites pulled for 25-17, 25-8 and 25-18 set wins to signal their intentions at the NPC Gymnasium in Remera.

Burundi also made light work of DR. Congo after a 3-0 set win. The Congolese side pushed Burundi all the way in the opening two sets (25-23, 26-24) only to switch off in the final set (25-10).

By press time, Rwanda were gearing up for their second and final match of the day against DR.Congo
Five countries including Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Congo and Rwanda are contesting in the week-long event.

The top two will qualify for the World Cup slated for November in USA.
