BUGESERA - The Anglican Church of Rwanda Wednesday launched a poverty alleviation project for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWAs) in Bugesera district.

The three-year project worth Rwf34 million is financed by Christian Aid-Rwanda through the Anglican Church of Rwanda, Kigali diocese.

The money is meant to help people living with HIV/AIDS grouped in cooperatives, associations and anti-AIDS clubs in designing income generating activities.

The project has so far financed small projects for about 200 people.

Archbishop Emmanuel Kolini urged the beneficiaries to use the resources they get in the rightful manner so that their families are uplifted from poverty and they (the infected) live a longer life.

"This money comes from people who do all their best to see you live longer and it will be a pity if you don’t use it effectively… contracting AIDS is not the end of life. But it depends on how you take care of your life.”
