Host Rwanda kick off their hunt for a World Cup slot this morning with a tricky test against Kenya at the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Gymnasium.

DR. Congo will clash with Burundi in the other morning fixture before facing Rwanda in the first of three games programmed for the afternoon.

Egypt will play Uganda while Kenya will take on Burundi in the final game of the day.

Rwanda, being handled by the experienced Dutch coach Jouke de Haan is deemed favourite to win the event dubbed ‘First open sitting volleyball’. The week-long event will be played on a round-robin basis and the top two teams will qualify for the World Cup slated for November in USA.

On top of the qualifiers, Jouke de Haan also has a tough task of guiding Rwanda to the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
