Rayon Sports host Sunrise FC in the Rwanda Premier League week 8 top fixture at the Kigali Stadium on Friday, November 4.
This is going to be the 13th meeting between the two clubs since November 29, 2014 with Rayon Sports winning seven, drawing three and losing two.
Sunrise FC's only win against Rayon in an away game was on February 16, 2020 when they cruised to a 2-0 victory. That game saw the host missing a penalty.
The encounter on Friday promises to live up to expectations despite Sunrise’s patchy form. They are 9th in the league table with eight points after seven games. Rayon are second with 15 points having won all the five games played.
Sunrise FC have already caused a big upset this season. They came to Kigali, outplayed and beat Kiyovu Sports 2-1.
Star striker Samson Babuwa who is by far the best player in the Sunrise FC team is optimistic that they can beat Rayon even though they are not consistent.
"Expectations are high. We are going to upset Rayon. Even though we are not stable, when it comes to big games we deliver," Babuwa told Times Sport.
"I urge all our fans to come to the stadium and support us. We are hopeful of amassing maximum points."
The game will kick-off at 6:00 PM on Friday.
