New travel company opens in Kigali

Kigali Bus Services Company Limited (KBS), a new local travel agency has started its operation with-in and out of Kigali City.

The company which has invested Rwf870 million has ushered in 20 new 32 sitter buses and intends to bring 20 more others by the end of this year.

According to Charles Ngarambe, the KBS’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the transport company cater for 5,000 passengers daily.

The company’s opening comes amidst shortage of public transport means most especially in the wee hours of morning and late in the evening due to increased number of passengers.

Recently, John Uwamungu, police spokesperson said that this had led to rise in theft cases.

As a result, police early this month mounted an operation arresting about 80 people for being idle and disorderly.

The company which caters for 10 percent of the daily traveling of passengers was approved by Rwanda Utilities and Regulatory Agency (RURA) as a new modern travel agency in the country.
