Rwanda’s U-17 national team has to go back to the drawing board after Tuesday’s 3-0 loss against Rangers’ junior side in Germany.
The junior wasps were using the game to gauge themselves ahead of next month’s Cecafa Youth Championships in Sudan.
The team is under-going a two-week intensive training camp at Enden Koben football academy in Rhenanie Palatinat Province.
The team’s next trial game is on Friday where they clash with Koblenz FC’s U-19 side.
After the training camp, the junior wasps will return on Kigali before flying out to Sudan on August 2.
Rwanda need to assemble a strong team after learning that the event will attract the likes of Nigeria. The two-time U-17 world champions were invited to spice up the event that will attract over ten countries.
The competition will be staged in Khartoum and Juba with a possibility of a third host city in Kessala.
The event has been sponsored by the Unity Government of Sudan to tune of US $400,000 (Rwf 22.6m).
